Combi Boilers
Combination boilers available in many sizes and various outputs provide programmable heating via an integral or external room thermostat. Hot water is on demand only and therefore you are not paying for stored water as with a conventional boiler, however some Combi boilers can include stored water but for most applications these can be excluded as probably 95% of combi boilers just heat the water required. The size of a combi boiler required depends on two factors, Heating requirements, how many radiators house size etc and hot water required, how many bathrooms, showers, cloakrooms etc. Choosing the correct size combination boiler is essential for the overall performance of the system combined with correct system designto suit your daily needs.

System Boilers
System boilers operate very similar to conventional boilers supplying heat to radiators or under floor heating and hot water is supplied from a storage cylinder which is normally situated in an airing cupboard, storage cylinders may be pressurised or gravity fed from a storage cistern usually situated in the loft, the overall efficiency of this system strongly depends on your choice of storage for your hot water, pressurised cylinders are the most efficient of the two. However system boilers are not as efficient as combination boilers because you pay for the luxury of stored hot water whether used or not. One advantage of storing large amounts of hot water would be in a large domestic house with several bathrooms and showers that are in use the same time. Installation costs are considerably higher for this system because you require a system boiler a storage cylinder additional motorised valvesand controls combined with extra labour costs.
